December 14th Whether it's necessary to becmoe more creative to stay relevant probably depends on the individual blogger and his or her audience. If the blogger is writing for other bloggers, or for people who look at similar blogs, another slight variation on My Day Trip to Petra is likely to turn off readers. But if the blogger reaches a more diverse audience (and especially an audience that doesn't consist of blog groupies), duplication of topic won't be such an issue.Ditto if the blogger is writing a practical how-to blog for travelers to Jordan or the Middle East, as opposed to yet another personal round-the-world travel blog: There probably aren't many of the former, and an article on How to Visit Petra will stand out from the crowd of My Day Trip to Petra posts even if the blogger isn't especially creative.

December 15th My readers seem to like what I post, indculing my Jordan stuff. My numbers are going up every month. More people are viewing and responding to my content. I have talked to a number of other good travel bloggers and that is the case for a lot of them. A lot of this talk, in my eyes, is just old media folks annoyed that new media is quickly taking over. The bottom line, readership, will tell the end of the tale.Any print magazines and newspapers out there doing 100% reader growth every 6 months? Not many that I know. JTB has been smart enough to see where the eyeballs are going. Happy a good number of them are going to me (and a number of other good bloggers). People vote with their feet. Happy they are pointing in my way and advertisers and other revenue sources are following.Good luck to everyone. And have a great holiday season.
